Headway Brain Injury Charity Demonstrates Support For Michael Schumacher

Headway UK’s Chief Executive, Peter McCabe has extended the brain injury charity’s support to the family of Michael Schumacher who has recently been involved in a skiing accident.

The accident has meant that the Formula one veteran has been in a coma with his family by his bedside. Mr. McCabe said that the charity knows how difficult it is for the family of people who are in a coma and appreciates the uncertain future he may face. He said: “The thoughts of everyone associated with the charity are with Michael and his family at this difficult time.”

‘Severe Brain Trauma’

Michael Schumacher is currently in a French hospital after his skiing accident caused him severe brain trauma. Mr. McCabe added that the tragic accident has emphasised the need for ‘immediate medical attention’ he also said that his advice to anyone skiing or snowboarding would be to always wear a helmet. He added: “ Our advice to anyone planning on going skiing or snowboarding this season is to make sure you wear a helmet and always seek medical attention if you fall and hit your head.”
