Justin Bieber Arrested For Dangerous Driving Faces Full Force Of Canadian Law

Justin Bieber, having been arrested in his hometown of Ontario, Canada for dangerous driving, faces the full force of Canadian law upon sentencing.

Canadian Laws On Dangerous Driving

The maximum penalty in Canada is 5 years where no injury occurs; in England and Wales, the maximum sentence of imprisonment is currently 2 years on indictment or just 6 months if the matter remains within the jurisdiction of the magistrates’ court.

It seems that Mr. Bieber will rue the day that he decided to take a restful break back home with his girlfriend Miss Gomez.

Other Famous Arrests For Dangerous Driving

In 2010 former Hollyoaks actor Ricky Whittle was cleared of dangerous driving in an incident also involving a photographer trying to take his picture; that case was decided upon the finding that Mr. Whittle did not intentionally turn his wheel towards the photographer.

Only weeks ago David Beckham was the subject of dangerous driving by photographers when he was chased by paparazzi through a red light whilst driving his children in LA.

It will be for the court to decide intent and culpability in Mr. Bieber’s case alongside the full facts of the incident.

Incidents of this type occur in many cases where high profile individuals attempt to evade the paparazzi. One would hope that the driving of the photographers hounding celebrities simply trying to enjoy a moment of privacy with their friends and family is assessed equally.
