An acclaimed composer from Birmingham, 61, has won a case of medical negligence against a hospital based in the West Midlands.

After being to Russells Hall Hospital in 2009, following a fall at his property, the hospital failed to diagnose a fractured back.   The man subsequently suffered a complete spinal cord injury leaving him wheelchair bound.

Staff failed to send the man for an X-ray and treatment was administered for a suspected urinary infection. He was prescribed painkillers and awoke to find that he had lost feeling in both of his legs.

Hospital Admitted Medical Negligence

Dudley hospital admitted medical negligence and stated that additional training had now been put in place.
